Serving the Word: John 10: 11-18

MONDAY 4 MAY

John 10, 11-18:
“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

We continue to contemplate Jesus as the Good Shepherd.
And these are the traits that characterize Jesus as the Good Shepherd:
+ He knows his sheep and calls them by name.
+ He is not the hired shepherd who abandons the sheep and runs away when he sees the wolf coming.
+ His service is free.
+ He gives his life for the sheep.
Jesus cares for you very much.
He knows you by name.
He will never abandon you.
He continues to give his life to you daily. Let yourself be shepherded by Him.
Pray again today, and often, with Psalm 23:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside quiet waters; there I lie down to rest my soul.
He leads me in the paths of safety, in keeping with his name. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me.
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Good day.
