Serving the Word: John 1, 1-18

TUESDAY 31 DECEMBER 2019

John 1, 1-18:
“In the word was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not receive it. The word was the true light that enlightens every man.

Today is the last day of the year.
A day in which thousands of things are intermingled: memories of loved ones, events that occurred and were celebrated, failures that we did not expect, doubts, questions, adversities, moments of joy and happiness…
May the light that is the Word help you today to express two feelings:
* The first, of profound thanksgiving to God. Thank you for so many gifts and so many gifts received: people on your path, family members who love you, friends who accompany you, circumstances and moments that have helped you to grow and mature as a person of faith…
* The second is forgiveness for what you have not done and for what you have done not quite right. Put it also in the Lord’s hands with peace and quiet. He who overcomes darkness and who enlightens every one, will enlighten you throughout the coming year so that you may continue to grow in following him and in his love.
Happy last day of the year 2019 and happy beginning of 2020.
