Serving the Word: 8th October

Luke 11, 27-28:

“A woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him, Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you.”

Today in the Gospel there are two beautiful compliments to the Mother of Jesus.

We want to highlight the enthusiasm and courage of this woman who dared to proclaim aloud the wonders that the Lord had done in Mary.

She was a courageous woman to make her voice resound in the midst of the crowd.

This woman invites all of us to raise our voices in praise of the Mother of God.

May we never be afraid to confess Mary as Mother of the Church and therefore as Mother of each one of us, followers of Jesus.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Good day to you.
