Serving the Word: 7th October

FRIDAY 7th OCTOBER 2022

Luke 11, 15-26:

“He who is not with me is against me; he who does not gather with me scatters”.

These words of Jesus in today’s Gospel are a call to put aside all self-sufficiency and to cling tightly to the strength of the Lord.

We often believe that we can achieve things, our projects and our goals, by our own hands and by our own efforts alone.

And we do not realise that without Jesus everything is useless and sterile.

Trusting fully in Jesus cannot lead us just to fold our arms and wait for the Lord to do everything. No.

We must work so that the Kingdom of God grows in the world, doing everything “as if everything depended on us, knowing that everything depends only on God”.

Throughout today, may you be an instrument in the hands of Jesus so that all that the good you sow will not be scattered and that you will build in a positive way.

Good day to you.
