Serving the Word: 7th November

SATURDAY 7 NOVEMBER

Luke 16, 9-15:
“He who can be trusted in small things can also be trusted in important things; he who is not honest in small things is not honest in important things either.”

We sometimes believe that heroes are those people who perform great deeds. If this were the case, we could grant few people the title of hero.
We would be missing an infinite number of heroic people who in the hidden and small things are making their lives a continuous act of heroism and fidelity:
× mothers who fight hard to bring up their children,
× people who, day in and day out, and in the midst of multiple occupations, care for a sick relative,
× volunteers in various organisations, NGOs and many other institutions who give others precisely the time they do not have.
× catechists, youth leaders and so many other people who daily are faithful in the little but doing great wonders for others…
It is all these men and women who have discovered that true service and true fidelity to God and to others are in these apparently small things.
They are the ones who constantly remind us and encourage us to live the beautiful adventure of heroism.
Be a hero today and every day!
Good day.
