TUESDAY 6TH OCTOBER
Luke 10, 38-42:
“Mary sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to his word… Martha, Martha, you are restless and nervous about so many things; only one thing is needed”.
There are days that, when we get up and think about the day’s agenda, we begin to worry about the hours and tasks that await us.
There are things to do and things to do and things to do.
And it is possible that among all the things that have to be done we do not have a few minutes to sit quietly and listen, meditate and pray the Word of Jesus.
How difficult it is for us to imitate Mary who “sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his word”.
Perhaps the Lord has to tell us from time to time that “we are restless and nervous about so many things, and yet only one thing is necessary”.
Ask the Lord to help you choose the “better part” like Mary.
Do not doubt that the “best part” is to be with the Lord by listening to His Word.
No one can take that part away from you.
