Serving the Word: 6th November

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH

Luke 16:1-8:
“Indeed, the children of this world are more cunning to their own people than are the children of light”.

Apart from the other things you may think of when you read the Gospel today, realize that the steward of this rich man does his best to make good friends among the needy.
What this steward does raises in me a question that I share with you: do I use the personal resources that I have – because God has given them to me – with those people who need them?
We all have many goods that we should learn to use and administer for the benefit of others by putting all our cunning and creativity into it.
At least, we should put all the cunning and creativity that we put into many other things.
The astuteness and creativity of many organizations – not to mention the MISSION PROCURE of the Claretian Missionaries – that knock on many doors so that love and solidarity can spread all over the world, is to be praised.
And we should also praise the astuteness and creativity of so many people who put their capacities at the service of those who suffer most.
Present all these people and associations to the Lord today and ask that he also give you energy and initiatives in the promotion of those most in need.
Good day.
