Serving the Word: 5th July

TUESDAY 5th JULY 2022

Matthew 9, 32-38:

“The people said in admiration, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” But the Pharisees said, “This man casts out demons with the power of the chief of the demons”.

While the humble and simple people praise and admire the deeds of Jesus, the Pharisees always have criticism on their lips.

However, such criticism does not prevent Jesus from “going about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and curing every disease and every sickness”.

Nor does such criticism prevent people from coming to Jesus “like sheep without a shepherd”.

Come to Jesus today. Surely you need him as the Good Shepherd.

Rest and abandon yourself to him.

Remember also that Jesus needs arms, hands and hearts that want to work in his field: “the harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few”.

Pray to the Lord to send labourers into his harvest and offer yourself to him as one of his labourers.

Good day.
