Serving the Word: 5th December

TUESDAY 5th DECEMBER 2023

Luke 10, 21-24

“Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it”.

The season of Advent is a time when we renew hope and joy. Hope, because we hope for what we already have. Joy, because we see and can feel what we hope for.

Jesus’ contemporaries had the good fortune to hear him, to see him, to touch him. But we too are no less fortunate. For we too can hear him, we too can see him and we too can touch him. Remember those words of Jesus: “Truly I tell you, whatever you have done for one of the least of these my brethren, you have done for me”.

Try to live Advent with the hope of already possessing what you hope for. Jesus is present in those little ones the Gospel tells us about. Blessed are your eyes if you see him in those you see.

Good day to you.
