TUESDAY 4th OCTOBER 2022
Luke 10, 38-42:
“Mary, seated at the Lord’s feet, listened to his word…. Martha, Martha, you are anxious and restless with so many things; only one thing is necessary”.
There are days when, on getting up and thinking about the day’s agenda, we begin to feel overwhelmed by the hours and tasks that await us.
There more and more things to be done.
And it is possible that in the midst of all that has to be done we do not have a few minutes to sit quietly and listen, meditate and pray the Word of Jesus.
How difficult it is for us to imitate Mary who, “sitting at the feet of the Lord, listened to his Word”.
Perhaps the Lord has to tell us from time to time that “we are restless and nervous about many things, and yet only one thing is necessary”.
Ask the Lord to help you to choose the “better part” like Mary.
Do not doubt that the “better part” is to be with the Lord, listening to His Word.
No one can take that part away from you.
