SATURDAY 3rd JUNE 2023
Mark 11, 27-33:
“By what authority do you do this? Who has given you such authority?”.
Jesus has just said to the Pharisees that they have turned the temple of God into a den of thieves.
And this grieves the Pharisees, who ask him by what authority Jesus is doing this.
They do not question why Jesus has addressed this accusation to them.
What matters to them is not to lose their power, to secure their own image.
They do not understand that Jesus’ authority is based on honesty, on always seeking truth and coherence, on selfless and generous service, on unconditional love for the person, on a deep relationship with the Father….
On which model do you want to base your authority? On the Pharisee model or on the model of Jesus?
You already know what each model consists of.
Try to bring the model of Jesus into your life.
