Serving the Word: 3rd December

THURSDAY 3 DECEMBER 2020

Matthew 7, 21.24-27:

“He who hears these words of mine and acts on them is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against the house, but it did not collapse, because it was founded on rock.

Little by little we are approaching Christmas. And, despite the hard times we are living through, the vortex of these days can be a good indicator to know and understand the foundations on which the construction of our life and, above all, our life of faith is based.

If for you the work or family meals, the gifts, the lights, the parties and so many other things that cover up the true meaning of Christmas are more important, it means that your life of faith is being built on sand and not on solid rock.

There is always time to take care of our spiritual life and to continue building it on solid rock.

Be faithful to your daily prayer, to your daily encounter with the Word, to your frequent living of the Eucharist.

Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation during this Advent season.

Make yourself more sensitive and close to the people who suffer, who are hungry, who need you.

May this time of Advent serve to make you similar to that wise man of the Gospel who built his house on rock.

Good day.
