Serving the Word: 30th November

TUESDAY 30th NOVEMBER 2021

Matthew 4, 18-22:

“Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed him”.

The preaching of Jesus in the Gospels begins with an invitation to follow and to conversion. To change our mentality and our life by following him.

Jesus invites us to steep ourselves in the Gospel, because to the extent that the Gospel is our rule of life, this life of ours will change. As the lives of these first followers of Jesus changed: From fishermen of fish they became fishers of people.

How many people are tossed between the waves of doubt, of unbelief, of indifference, of passivity …

How many people are shipwrecked in seas of poverty, misery and ignorance …

Let us fish in these seas together with Jesus!

This is what the Lord invites us to do today: “Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”.

He invites us to watch over and help so many men and women who are in need of a lifebelt.

Let Jesus make you “fishers of people” and send you out into the “troubled seas” of the world.

Ask the Lord today for the strength to leave your nets, to leave everything that prevents you from following him, allowing your life to be more and more transparent of the Gospel and to give meaning to other lives that are victims of so many shipwrecks.

Good day.
