Serving the Word: 29th September

TUESDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER

John 1, 47-51:
“There you have a real Israelite, in whom there is no deceit”.

Today we celebrate the feast of the Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.
In today’s Gospel we meet the figure of Nathanael: “a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceit”.
This is how Jesus defined him.
At the same time, Nathanael also gives a description of Jesus: “You are the Son of God, you are the King of Israel.
May Jesus also name you today with the name of these archangels:
● Because you fight evil like Michael.
● Because you announce salvation like Gabriel.
● Because you are God’s medicine like Raphael.
You too are God’s messenger and mediator for your brothers and sisters.
And insofar as you fight against evil, insofar as you announce salvation and insofar as you are God’s medicine for others, you are also Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. Congratulations to all of you who bear the name of any of these Archangels.
Good day.
