Serving the Word: 29th January

SATURDAY 29th JANUARY 2022

Mark 4, 35-41:

“When evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Let us go over to the other side’.”

Today’s Gospel begins with an invitation from Jesus: “Let us go to the other side”.

It is also an invitation to each one of us.

To go to “the other shore” means to leave where we are and to go somewhere else.

It may be that today Jesus is inviting you to:

+ to leave the shore of pride and move to the shore of forgiveness,

+ to leave the shore of selfishness and move to the shore of self-giving,

+ that you leave the shore of comfort and move to the shore of working for others,

+ that you leave the shore of apathy and move to the shore of enthusiasm,

+ that you leave the shores that you know you must leave and move to the shores that you also know you need and that Jesus is asking of you.

Don’t be afraid of the waves or the headwinds. For Jesus “even the wind and the waters obey him”.

Have faith!

Good day.
