Serving the Word: 29th January

FRIDAY 29th JANUARY 2021

Mark 4, 26-34:

“To what can we compare the kingdom of God? With a mustard seed: when sown in the ground, it is the smallest of seeds, but after it is sown, it grows, it becomes taller than other plants, and it puts out branches so big that the birds of the air can nest in its shade”.

Jesus likes things that are simple, humble and small, because in the small and the weak the greatness and the strength of God are shown.

He says that the Kingdom of God is like a grain of wheat or a mustard seed.

Something so small grows and bears fruit and life.

Base your life on what is small. In this way you will become great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The holiness of the Gospel does not consist in doing heroics. A true hero is a person who keeps his or her faithfulness in “the small change from day to day”.

Trust in the power of the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let yourself be led by him and you will see how the grace of God will germinate in you, grow and produce an abundant harvest.

Good day.
