Luke 9, 7-9
“And he longed to see Jesus”.
The question that Herod asks himself today in the Gospel is the question that each one of us can ask ourselves. And it is also the question that many people have asked, are asking and will ask themselves: “Who is Jesus of Nazareth? Ask yourself today, once again, who Jesus is for you. What does he mean in your life? How he influences your decisions. How does he modify your behaviour?
And from here, from your own experience of Jesus, also proclaim and announce who Jesus is. Because just as Herod “longed to see Jesus” back then, so too today there are many people who, perhaps without knowing it, want to see Jesus. And keep in mind that many will read no other gospel than the gospel of your life.
