Serving the Word: 28th July

Matthew 13, 47-53:

“The kingdom of heaven is also like a net which they cast into the sea and gather in all kinds of fish: when it is full, they drag it ashore, sit down, and gather the good ones into baskets, and the bad ones they throw away.”

The fisherman, sitting on the seashore, discerns his catch and separates some fish from others.

His experience and wisdom lead him to make this discernment.

Today too, Jesus leads you to discernment.

Throughout today, stop for a while and discern about your life of faith at this time of the summer:

× how are you handling your relationship with God these days?

× How is your daily prayer? Is it your daily, personal encounter with the Lord?

× when and how do you participate in the Eucharist?

× How is your service and dedication to others functioning?

Ask the Lord for wisdom to know how to distinguish some “fish” from others and to value the “fishing” you are doing this summer.
