Serving the Word: 27th October

TUESDAY 27 OCTOBER

Luke 13, 18-21:
“The kingdom of God is like a mustard seed… it is like the yeast that a woman takes and puts in three measures of flour until everything is fermented.

We return to the small things. To the tiny mustard seeds and the little yeast in the middle of the dough.
To what we can hardly see but which we can sense and notice when it is missing.
It’s the little details, it’s the little services, the little smiles given, the hugs that really express affection, a word of encouragement, blessing and comfort…
These small things are what build the Kingdom of God, because they are like that little bit of yeast that makes the whole dough rise.
It is also like that little brick that is insignificant in the construction of a gigantic tower, but which is essential for the very construction.
Ask the Lord to be that little grain of mustard or that little bit of yeast wherever you are, so that through you the Kingdom of God may grow and spread.
Good day.
