Serving the Word: 27th January

FRIDAY 27th JANUARY 2023

Mark 4, 26-34:

“To what can we compare the Kingdom of God? To a mustard seed: when it is sown in the ground it is the smallest seed, but when it is sown it grows, it becomes taller than other shrubs and puts forth branches so large that the birds of the air can nest in its shade”.

Jesus likes simple, humble and small things, because it is in the small and the weak that the greatness and power of God is shown.

He says that the Kingdom of God is like a grain of wheat or a mustard seed. Something so small grows and gives fruit and life.

Start your life from the small. Then you will become great in the Kingdom of Heaven. The holiness of the Gospel is not about heroics. A true hero is a person who remains faithful in the “small things of everyday life”.

Trust in the strength of the Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. Let yourself be led by Him and you will see how the grace of God germinates in you, grows and produces an abundant harvest.

Good day to you.
