Serving the Word: 26th September

SATURDAY 26 SEPTEMBER

Luke 9, 43b-45:
“Jesus said to his disciples, “Let these words sink into your ears, that the Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men”. But they did not understand this language; it was so veiled for them that they did not grasp the meaning. And they were afraid to ask him about it”.

It is also very difficult for us to understand the language of the Cross.
But Jesus’ message is very clear: “Whoever wants to be my disciple should take up his cross and come after me.
The Cross is something we all run away from and would like to get rid of.
But the cross is something so essential to a Christian that we can never do without it.
Jesus will not take away the crosses we have to carry. But Jesus will certainly help us to carry the crosses we have to bear.
Ask Jesus today to give you the wisdom to understand his language.
May you never run away from the Cross but may he always give you the strength to know how to carry it behind him.
Do not be afraid. With Jesus you can carry all the crosses that will come up in your life.
Good day.
