Serving the Word: 26th February

SATURDAY 26th FEBRUARY 2022

Mark 10, 13-16:

“Let the little children come to me: do not hinder them; the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it”.

How many times in the Gospel we are told about the humble, the small, the insignificant, that which does not count in the eyes of the world.

We are told of the leaven, of the mustard seed, of simplicity in order to enter the Kingdom of God.

To get close to Jesus we need a heart as simple and small as a child’s heart.

We will never understand Jesus’ feelings if we do not accept his words with the faith and trust that comes from the simplicity of a heart that does not consider itself important, but from a heart that knows it is small and in need of God and of others.

Always try to make yourself small. God rejects the proud of heart and turns to the humble of heart.

With this small and humble heart you will contribute to the “revolution of tenderness” to which Jesus invites us and which our world needs so much.

Good day.
