Serving the Word: 26th December

MONDAY 26th DECEMBER 2022

Matthew 10, 17-22:

“He who endures to the end will be saved”.

Jesus does not want us to be deceived. He asks us to follow him. But he clearly tells us that in that following he mixes joy and gladness with the cross that we have to carry daily behind him.

Following Jesus and being close to him also means sharing his suffering, being persecuted, experiencing misunderstanding and even giving our lives, as he did, to bring about the triumph of his Kingdom of justice, love and peace.

We must be his witnesses even in the midst of difficulties. We must proclaim the Gospel even in difficult times when we must not lose our smile and we must remain faithful to the last consequences.

During these days of Christmas you will surely have many occasions to stand up for Jesus in environments, in circumstances, in situations, which are not exactly the most suitable or the most in accordance with the Gospel of Jesus.

May this word of Jesus always be fulfilled in you: “He who perseveres to the end will be saved”.

Good day.
