Serving the Word: 25th October

Luke 12, 39-48

“If the master of the house knew when the thief was coming, he would not let him break in. In the same way you must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect”.

Jesus’ calls to be vigilant and attentive to his visit continue. He has placed in our hands gifts that are not to be kept but to be put into a continuous and permanent exercise of service.

We are servants managing what is not our own, but managing the part of the “treasury” that our Lord has entrusted to us.

In this Gospel, the one who is caught by the Lord working, putting all his efforts and all his energy into the construction of this new order of things that Jesus came to establish, is declared blessed.

Work today and always to carry out this commission of the Lord. Be committed to carry out his commission.

May this be for you this beatitude of Jesus: “Blessed is the servant whom his master finds behaving in this way when he arrives. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions”.

Good day to you.
