Luke 12, 35-38
“Keep your lamps burning”.
Jesus invites us today to be vigilant. And he comes to tell us that in order to be vigilant we have to take care of ourselves spiritually. We need the “oil” that keeps the flame of watchfulness alive.
Sometimes we want to keep the flame alive by pouring in water and even other products with which it is impossible to burn. Examine how you prepare the lamp of your Christian life and also examine what “oil” your lamp needs to give light and to see clearly.
Jesus puts “oil resources” within your reach: prayer, the Eucharist, his Word, the sacrament of Reconciliation? You too, today, prepare your “lamp”. May you have a very good day in the presence of the Lord.
