Serving the Word: 24th January

TUESDAY 24th JANUARY 2023

Mark 3, 31-35:

“Jesus asks them, “Who are my mother and my brothers and sisters?” And looking around at those who were sitting around him, he says, “These are my mother and my brothers. Whoever does the will of God is my brother and sister and mother”.

Jesus likes to be with his family and to be surrounded by people. But his family is not made up of administrative data or civil registry data. Not even the ties of flesh and blood.

His family is made up of all those who come within the scope of Jesus’ gaze.

His family is made up of all those who are around him and who cross their gaze with the gaze of Jesus and together direct it to the Father to know his will.

Fulfilling the will of the Father is what makes a sister, what makes a family according to Jesus.

Because the Father’s will is that we all respect each other, help each other, love each other, value each other and do not harm each other.  Then we will be brothers and sisters of Jesus.

Good day to you.
