Serving the Word: 24th December

Luke 1, 67-79:

“By the tender mercy of our God, the Sun who rises from on high will visit us, to shine on those who live in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our steps in the way of peace.”

God never forgets us. He continually and constantly visits his people. He becomes man and saves us. He enlightens us and guides us on paths of peace.

With Jesus, the Sun that rises from on high, a new life comes to us.

God manifests himself as man to bring to the world a message of peace and to open to us the gates of heaven.

Ask the Lord to live these days of Christmas with intensity and that his coming may comfort and strengthen those of us who hope in him.

O Emmanuel, God with us, Saviour of the nations, hope of the peoples, come and set us free, O Lord, do not delay, come quickly, O Lord, come, O Saviour!

Have a good Christmas Eve and don’t forget to pray to the Lord for all those people for whom Christmas Eve is not going to be so good.

Good day to you.
