Serving the Word: 22nd March

MONDAY 22nd MARCH 2021

John 8, 1-11:

“Let him who is without sin cast the first stone…. Neither do I condemn you. Go, and henceforth sin no more”.

Pope Francis, a newly elected pope, commented on this Gospel passage: “We are moved by Jesus’ attitude towards the adulterous woman: ‘Neither do I condemn you’. The face of God is that of a merciful father. He is always patient.

God never tires of forgiving! Never! The problem is that we get tired of asking for forgiveness. We have to learn to be more merciful to everyone.

In the Lord’s Prayer we say “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”.

Never blame! Sin is always to be condemned but the sinner is always to be forgiven.

Avoid blaming others. The Gospel teaches us to forgive, for “let him who is without sin cast the first stone”.

Good day.
