WEDNESDAY 22nd MARCH 2023
John 5, 17-30:
“My Father is still at work, and I too am at work”.
We sometimes believe that the saints have become saints by their own strength.
And when we want to imitate them, we also believe that we can do it in our own strength.
We forget that it is always the Lord who acts. It is the Father who is lovingly and continually at work in us.
It is the Son who is also continually giving us LIFE.
It is the Holy Spirit who permanently sanctifies us.
Certainly all saints are heroes. But not because they have triumphed but because God has triumphed in them.
Open your heart to God’s working in you. Let his grace transform you.
His daily word will show you the way. And the sacraments will sustain you and give you the strength you need so that God may also triumph in you.
