Luke 12, 54-59:
“If you know how to interpret the appearance of earth and heaven, how can you not know how to interpret the present time? How can you not judge for yourselves what is right?”.
Nowadays, we all understand everything: politics, religion, medicine, fashions, trends….
We all think we know how to interpret the present time: we interpret politics, we interpret religion, we interpret the Church….
We know how to interpret everything because we think we are experts in everything.
But:
Do we really know how to interpret ourselves?
Do we really know ourselves what to do, do we do what we are told or do we do what the Lord tells us, do we know how to interpret the voice of the Lord within us, do we know how to interpret the impulses of the Lord within us?
Do we know how to interpret those promptings of the Holy Spirit that lead us each day to greater fidelity to the Gospel?
Ask the Lord today that you may truly know how to interpret the signs of your times.
May you allow yourself to be led by the breath of the Spirit and may your life be a continuous response to what the Spirit shows you as what you must realise in order to live and make the Gospel come alive.
