WEDNESDAY 21st JUNE 2023
Matthew 6, 1-6.16-18:
“When you do almsgiving, do not go blowing your own trumpet in front of you. When you go to pray, go into your room, shut the door and pray to your Father who is in the secret place. When you fast, do not go about crestfallen like the hypocrites, who disfigure their faces to make people see that they are fasting”.
The Lord invites us to travel and walk along three paths that lead us to God and they are three indispensable paths in our life of following Jesus.
Almsgiving, fasting and prayer are indispensable in our following of Jesus.
More alms for others, more fasting for oneself, more prayer for God.
* Fast from noises and distractions that prevent you from listening to the voice of your conscience and from meeting more deeply with God and with others.
* Give alms by giving yourself, from within. Share your qualities, your time, your goods, your life….
* Deal more with the Lord. Do not fail to meet Him daily in your daily time of prayer. Weekly in the Eucharist and frequently in the Sacrament of Forgiveness.
Encourage and nurture these good desires in you.
In this way you will celebrate your daily encounter with the Lord in all joy and fullness and your Christian journey will bear fruit.
