TUESDAY 20 OCTOBER
Luke 12, 35-38:
“Be like men who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding, so that they may open to him as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the Lord finds awake when He comes”.
We are mistaken if we think that the Lord will only come to visit us at the hour of our death.
Certainly at that time we will all receive a visit from the Lord. But we have to realize that the Lord is visiting us at every moment.
He visits us every time we participate in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of forgiveness and in the other sacraments. He visits us every time we meditate on his Word.
He visits us in the people who cross our path every day, especially the weak, the small and the needy.
He visits us in the small or great events that occur in our lives or in the lives of others. We must be vigilant and prepared to know how to discover these visits, these calls and these presences of the Lord.
Stay awake and be prepared to receive the continuous visit and the continuous presence and call of the Lord.
Good day.
