Serving the Word: 20th October

WEDNESDAY 20th OCTOBER 2021

Luke 12, 39-48:

“Understand that if the master of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let him break through. In the same way you must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect”.

Jesus’ calls to be vigilant and attentive to his visit continue.

He has placed in our hands gifts that are not to be kept but to be put into a continuous and permanent exercise of service.

We are servants who administer what is not ours but administer the part of the “treasury” that our Lord has entrusted to us.

In this Gospel, the one who is caught by the Master working, putting all his commitment and all his effort into the construction of this new order of things that Jesus came to establish, is declared blessed.

Work today and always to carry out this commission of the Lord. Be committed to carry out his commission.

May this beatitude of Jesus be for you: “Blessed is the servant whom his master finds behaving in this way when he arrives. Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions”.

Good day.
