Serving the Word: 20th November

FRIDAY 20 NOVEMBER

Luke 19, 45-48:
“My house is a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves”.

A very human tendency of all times, including our own, is to try to control God, thinking that in this way he does not control us.
That’s why we find his presence in a place and dedicate certain times to it.
But God always overwhelms us and goes beyond our human schemes.
He doesn’t need material temples because his true temple is the heart of every human being. Nor does He need specific times because the worship he wants is in spirit and in truth.
Of course it is necessary that we have special places and times to meet Him.
But let us never lose sight of the fact that each person is a living stone of the sanctuary that God wants.
You are also one of those living stones.
May the sanctuary of your heart be a place where the Lord continually dwells.
Ask Him to cleanse it of everything that hinders you from meeting him, and to throw out of it everything that could make it a marketplace or a business park.
Good day.
