Serving the Word: 1st December

THURSDAY 1st DECEMBER 2022

Matthew 7, 21.24-27:

“Whoever hears these words of mine and acts on them is like the wise man who built his house on a rock. ` And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against the house, but it did not fall, because it was built on the rock.”

Little by little we are getting closer to Christmas. And, despite the hard times we are living through, the whirlwind of these day can be a good indicator to know and realise the foundations on which our lives have been built.

And, above all, our life of faith.

If for you the most important things are business or family meals, gifts, lights, parties and so many other things that cover up the true meaning of Christmas, it means that your life of faith is being built on sand and not on solid rock.

There is always time to take care of our spiritual life and to keep building it on solid rock.

Be faithful to your daily prayer, to your daily encounter with the Word, to your frequent living of the Eucharist.

Celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation during this time of Advent.

Make yourself more sensitive and closer to the people who suffer, who are hungry, who need you.

May this time of Advent help you to be like the wise man in the Gospel who built his house on rock.

Good day to you.
