Serving the Word: 19th September

SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER

Luke 8, 4-15:
” The seed that fell on good soil are those who with noble and generous hearts listen to the word, keep it and bear fruit by persevering.

The sower went out to sow. Every day the Lord goes out to sow in the field of our hearts.
And every day it is also good for us to think about what kind of soil his seed falls into.
Examine also today the kind of soil that your heart contains:
◇ If it is hardened, trodden earth.
◇ If the stones are too abundant in it.
◇ If it has weeds growing in it in such a way that they choke everything that sprouts in it.
◇ And if it is, finally, good, fertile soil in which it sprouts, grows and produces all the seeds that are deposited in it.
Work to identify yourself with the ending of this Gospel passage: “The good soil is those who listen to the Word with a noble and generous heart, keep it and bear fruit by persevering.
Have a good day’s sowing. May the seed of the Word fall into you and bear abundant fruit.
Good day.
