TUESDAY 19th SEPTEMBER 2023
Luke 7, 11-17
“Jesus was on his way to a town called Nain. As he approached the gate of the town, it happened that they were bringing out a dead man to bury, the only son of his mother, who was a widow. When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Do not weep. And he went to the coffin and touched it and said, “Young man, I say to you, get up. The dead man sat up and began to speak, and gave him to his mother”.
Jesus does not only comfort with words. He also consoles with deeds. In the face of human pain and tragedy he feels pity, his heart is moved, like this poor widow who is also mourning the loss of her only son. And Jesus acts. He does not just stop at sentiment alone. By giving life back to her only son, he helps her to restore a life of hope.
You are a follower of Jesus. He also tries to wipe away tears, to communicate life and to restore hope. Fight against everything that harms God’s dream for humanity.
You will be happy sowing happiness. Never doubt that the one who sows blessings is and will be blessed.
