Serving the Word: 19th October

TUESDAY 19th OCTOBER 2021

Luke 12, 35-38:

“Be like those men who wait for their master to return from the wedding, so that they may open to him as soon as he comes and knocks. Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes”.

We are mistaken if we think that the Lord will only come to visit us at the hour of our death.

Certainly at that time each and every one of us will be visited by the Lord. But we must realise that the Lord is visiting us at every moment.

He visits us every time we participate in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of forgiveness and in the other sacraments. He visits us whenever we meditate and internalise his Word.

He visits us in the people who cross our path every day, especially in the weak, the small and the needy.

He visits us in the small or big events that happen in our life or in the life of others. We have to be vigilant and prepared to discover these visits, these calls and these presences of the Lord.

Be vigilant and be prepared to receive the continuous visit and the continuous presence and call of the Lord.

Good day.
