TUESDAY 18th MAY 2021
John 17, 1-11a:
“This is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and the one you sent, Jesus Christ.”
We may think, and indeed we often think, that eternal life begins at the moment of our death.
But Jesus in today’s Gospel tells us that eternal life begins already here, in this world, as we come to know Him and to know the Father.
To know in the Bible is not only an act that we do with our intelligence.
To know in the Bible is to experience, to live… and, in our case, it is to experience and live the life of God in us.
When God’s life takes hold of us, God’s eternal life also takes hold of us and we become imbued with his eternal life.
Start now to live the eternal life by living God’s life in you.
