Serving the Word: 17th October

SATURDAY 17 OCTOBER

Luke 12, 8-12:
“Whoever speaks against the Son of Man may be forgiven, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

To blaspheme against the Holy Spirit is simply to refuse to be saved by God, to refuse His love, His affection and His forgiveness.
It is to refuse to be loved and forgiven.
Pope John Paul II defined this blasphemy as follows: “It does not consist in offending the Holy Spirit with words; it consists in refusing to accept the salvation that God offers mankind through the Holy Spirit, who acts in virtue of the sacrifice of the cross. If Jesus affirms that the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven it is because of the radical refusal to convert”.
Ask the Holy Spirit Himself to lead you to Him always.
He will teach you in every moment what you have to say and what you have to do to be a true disciple of Jesus.
Good day.
