Serving the Word: 16th September

THURSDAY 16th SEPTEMBER 2021

Luke 7, 36-50:

” Her many sins are forgiven because she has much love”.

Two typical characters appear in this Gospel:

A Pharisee of blameless conduct and a woman of very dubious character.

The Pharisee, who is above everything, who knows everything and becomes the judge of everything and everyone.

He is full of laws, rules and judgements, but devoid of love and closeness.

A woman at the feet of Jesus who weeps, who covers his feet with kisses, who bathes them with tears and anoints them with perfume.

She is a person empty of self and full of love.

And this is the person with whom Jesus takes sides. It is the person who is open to Jesus’ mercy and forgiveness.

Find some time today and place yourself at the feet of Jesus so that He can empty you of all Pharisaical traits and fill you with his infinite mercy, his infinite love and his infinite forgiveness.

Enjoy the day that God gives you.

Good day.
