Luke 17, 20-25
“The Kingdom of God will not come in a spectacular way.
“It can only be seen well with the heart. What is essential is invisible to the eye”. With the heart a mother sees the heart of her child.
With the heart a lover sees the heart that makes him fall in love.
With the heart a friend sees the heart of his friend.
“The Kingdom of God is within you”: The Kingdom of God, like everything essential, like everything important, begins and is in the heart of each person.
The Kingdom of God is in your heart. When you pray the Our Father today and say “Thy Kingdom come”, look at your heart. Examine what is in it.
To the extent that it is full of love, gratuitousness, forgiveness, joy, generosity, enthusiasm… to that same extent will the Kingdom of God be within you. Without fireworks, without great spectacles, without amazing things.
The Kingdom of God will be in your heart to the extent that your heart is filled with the Gospel.
And from your heart it will spread and spread throughout the world.
May you spread the fire of the Kingdom of God today.
