Serving the Word: 15th July

Matthew 11, 28-30:

“Jesus exclaimed, “Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find your rest. For my yoke is easy to bear and my burden is light.

Tiredness, weariness, discouragement, dejection, despondency, anguish, sadness… and so many other negative states of mind enter into the human being.

And each person looks for the remedy where they believe they will find the solution.

Jesus stands before you today as a place of rest and comfort. He reveals Himself to the simple, to those who do not focus on themselves and put him at the centre of their lives.

Jesus identifies with those who identify with his meekness and humility of heart.

Ask the Lord today for the simplicity necessary to open your heart to him, to listen to him and to turn to him, placing in his love, in his heart, all the weariness and all the burdens that assail you at this time.

Good day.
