Serving the Word: 15th December

FRIDAY 15th DECEMBER 2023

Matthew 11, 16-19

“This generation is like the children sitting in the marketplace who shout to one another, ‘We played the flute, but you did not dance; we sang lamentations, but you did not weep'”.

There are people who are never satisfied with what others do. They always have the “but” in their hands and in their mouths. That is why Jesus advises us to act always from God’s wisdom. If we try to live our lives from that wisdom, we can never be afraid of being criticised or rejected or persecuted.

From our faith, our intention and attention is not to please men but God. We should never care about “what people will say”, the opinion of the people around us, or false and sycophantic applause. Our paths are made by God and with him we travel them.

Ask the Lord today for His wisdom to walk along them.

Good day to you.
