Serving the Word: 14th October

WEDNESDAY 14 OCTOBER

Luke 11, 42-46:
“Woe to you, Pharisees, who pay tithes of mint, rue and all kinds of produce, while you pass over the right and the love of God; woe to you, who are like unmarked graves, which people tread on without knowing it!

Like the masters of the law and the Pharisees, we too are inconsistent when we scrupulously observe the small details, which certainly have importance, and neglect the fundamental things like justice, mercy and faithfulness.
That is why today Jesus reminds us not to forget what is essential.
And He also reminds us to take care of our inner self which is more important than our image.
He reminds us of our sins of omission and encourages us to always do good and to do what God expects of us.
To take into account what is fundamental and essential and to start working today.
We have a lot to do and a long way to go.
Let’s be encouraged. Let us take care of our interior, our soul and our heart.
Yours and that of others. Good day.
