Serving the Word: 13th September

MONDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2021

Luke 7, 1-10:

“Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof. Say but the word, and my servant will be healed”.

A centurion of the Roman people has a servant who is about to die.

He goes to Jesus.

Because he is not a Jew he does not consider himself worthy to have Jesus come into his house.

But his faith and trust in Jesus is so great that it touches Jesus’ heart and he performs the miracle.

For Jesus there are no borders of races, peoples, nations or even beliefs.

Jesus only asks us to put our faith and trust in him in order to realise his wonders in us.

If we turn to him, his powerful Word will work miracles in us and give us the fullness of life we need.

The centurion in today’s Gospel is also a beautiful example of a person who intercedes in prayer for others.

Think of specific people for whom you want to intercede today.

Together with your faith and trust present, them to Jesus.

Good day.
