Serving the Word: 13th September

Luke 6, 20-26

“Blessed are the poor… Blessed are you who are now hungry… …. Blessed are you who mourn now… Blessed are you when they hate you, and exclude you, and insult you, and outcast you. Rejoice and leap for joy, for your reward will be great in heaven”.

We only have to turn to social networks and the media to receive a myriad of offers of all types and hues. And in the end they all offer us joy and happiness.

The beatitudes are also an offer of happiness. When we get in touch with the Gospel and read the chapters in which Jesus proclaims the beatitudes, we receive other offers of happiness. One or the other always promises us the attainment of that happiness to which we all aspire.

Choose Jesus’ offer. In fact, it is the offer that will really make you happy.

In your time of prayer today, listen again to the way of happiness that Jesus offers you and ask him for the strength to choose his programme of happiness and to know how to live it.

Good day to you.
