Serving the Word: 13th October

THURSDAY 13th OCTOBER 2022

Luke 11, 47-54:

“Woe to you, teachers of the law, who have seized the key of knowledge: you have not entered, and those who were trying to enter you have prevented them!”.

We often confuse sincerity with outbursts and even with impoliteness.

In the name of sincerity, we can make other people suffer and give them a hard time. Because, in the end, what we are trying to do is not to build but to destroy and attack.

Jesus’ sincerity is constructive. With courage he unmasks all those actions that oppose and hinder the Father’s plan of salvation for man.

Jesus does not want to hurt any of those who have listened to him, but he wants to cure them of their blindness, hypocrisy and lies.

That is why he speaks very clearly to those who praise God with their tongue but their heart is as hard as a rock.

Ask the Lord today for true sincerity of heart so that you may know how to denounce without wounding all that opposes the Kingdom of God.

May he give you the gift of correcting without wounding.

Good day to you.
