Serving the Word: 12th October

MONDAY 12 OCTOBER

Luke 11, 27-28:
“A woman from the crowd, lifting up her voice, said to him, ‘Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you.

We comment again on this short gospel today, the feast of the Virgin of Pilar.
Two beautiful compliments to Mary:
The first comes from the lips of a woman of the village. She compliments Mary for being the mother of Jesus: “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that raised you”.
The second comes from the lips of Jesus himself: “Better yet, blessed are those who hear the word of God and do it”.
Jesus proclaims Mary blessed not because she is his mother, but because she listens to and fulfils the Word of God.
Mary’s life is marked by listening, interiorizing and being faithful in fulfilling what God asks of her.
We too can be happy like Mary if we let the Word of God guide our lives and if we carry out all that God asks of us.
We will be blessed because in this will of God for each one of us our joy and happiness will be born and reborn.
May you be very happy and very blessed today. Congratulations to all the Pillars.
Good day.
