Provincial Meeting of the Secretariat for Parishes and Churches

The Province of Fátima convenes the Provincial Meeting of the Secretariat for Parishes and Churches

Under the motto «Claretians and Missionaries. Identity and mission of our parishes and churches», the event will take place from 20th to 22nd November 2026 at the House of Spirituality in Fátima.

In line with the directions of the last Provincial Chapter to continue building together a Province in permanent dynamism and missionary outreach, the Prefecture of Apostolate has officially convened the Provincial Meeting of the Secretariat for Parishes and Churches.

This gathering responds to the Chapter’s call to establish specific times to discern God’s voice and seek the most suitable pastoral responses to today’s reality. From a clear synodal perspective of walking together, the convocation brings together the key actors from each pastoral position: at least one Claretian missionary (preferably the parish priest or rector) and one or two lay representatives with special involvement and leadership in their communities. The joint presence of missionaries and laypeople reflects the Secretariat’s commitment to a shared and co-responsible mission within the Province.

Objectives of the Meeting

The meeting roadmap is structured around three fundamental goals for the Secretariat’s revitalization and strategic alignment:

  1. Growing in identity pride («We are Claretians»): Reaffirming our charismatic identity and distinct evangelising style in each of our pastoral positions.
  2. Strengthening provincial communion («We are Province»): Deepening bonds, fostering networking and consolidating the sense of belonging to the Province of Fátima.
  3. Drawing up a strategic plan as SEPAT («We are Missionaries»): Outlining the operational guidelines and future vision for the Secretariat’s evangelising action.
